The Baker’s Bucket List: Make the Greatest Pastries, Cakes, Cookies, and Breads of All Time, by Heather Thomas (November 17, 2026)
This baking book is for both beginner bakers and for bakers looking to level up their skills. The 55 recipes include breads, cakes, cookies, desserts and pastries.
By the way, Heather is hosting a Baking Retreat in Spring 2027 in Arizona! Such a cool idea.

Cookie Science : 60+ Standout Recipes for Scientifically Better Treats, by Dikla Levy Frances (September 8, 2026)
I’m a better cook than I am a baker. I improvise, and don’t always follow directions. That can have pleasing results for cooking, but not with baking since it’s more based in science and exactness. I’m going to try to improve myself (and follow instructions!) by working my way through this cookie baking book.
Chapters include Know Your Bakeware; Know Your Ingredients; Shortbread Cookies; Chocolate Chip Cookies; Dropped and Piped; Filled, Sandwiched and Double Baked; Cakey Cookies & Cookie Cakes; Toppings, FIllings & More. Yum!

Devour : Dangerously Good Recipes to Awaken Your Dark Side, by Kay Raymond (October 26, 2026)
Here’s the perfect dark cookbook for the spooky season. It’s not a Halloween cookbook, but takes delightful risks I haven’t seen other cookbooks take. It’s quite gothic in tone. I was glad to see many recipes for fruits and veggies, or things I could adapt for my vegetarian diet other than the meatcentric recipes. This is an incredibly unique and creative cookbook.
Chapters include The Primal; The Ethereal; The Apothecary; and The Zodiacal.

A Little Something Sweet : 75 Decadent Single-Serve Desserts to Satisfy Last-Minute Cravings, by Kathleen Hansen (September 22, 2026)
Here’s a great concept for a baking book: single serve desserts! My boyfriend and I have totally different tastes in desserts, and if either one of us bakes cookies, a cake or pie, the portion size is too big. I can’t eat cinnamon and hate coconut, for example; and he wants to bake sweets with both flavors. We don’t want to waste food, so I’m delighted to see this new cookbook offering portions for one.
Chapters include: For the Love of Chocolate; No Bake, No Problem; Nostalgic Treats; Date Night for One (Or Two); Fruit Forward; A Little Something to Celebrate; and Brunch Approved.

Ma! What Are We Making Today? : 100+ Sicilian Recipes That Have Fed Our Family for Generations, by Pina and Roe (November 17, 2026)
Here’s an Italian cookbook that focuses on Sicilian family recipes. The cookbook’s authors are a mother-daughter team. Chapters include: The Essentials; Sicilian Staples; Antipasto; Soups and Salads; Pasta, Pasta, Pasta!; Nonna Maria Specialties; Meats and Fishes; The Modern Italian Table; Le Verdure; Sicilian Sweets.
I have a very good friend who is a Sicilian chef, and I can’t wait to explore this cookbook with him!

One-Hour Sourdough : The Revolutionary Method for Great Bread in a Fraction of the Time, by Amy Duska (October 6, 2026)
I love the premise of, and promise of, this bread hack cookbook: “1: Make one big batch of dough, naturally fermented the traditional way. 2: Put the whole bowl of dough in the fridge, and you now have pre-fermented dough ready to use throughout the week. 3: When you are craving bread, simply pull off the required amount of dough, shape, let rise in a warm spot for about one hour, and bake!”
Anything that helps provide a shortcut to me having a home smelling like freshly baked bread, is a must-have cookbook. I’m pre-ordering this right now!

Pâtisserie Extraordinaire : Impress with Modern French Entremets, by Fred Csibi-Levin (September 29, 2026)
This clever and creative pastry cookbook is not designed for beginning bakers. The author walks bakers carefully through the steps of creating “illusion desserts.” They’re desserts that look like fruit, plates of food, vegetables or everyday objects. For example, you could make a cake that looks like a vintage typewriter.
Part 1 introduces illusion desserts ; Part 2 teaches fundamental elements and techniques. Part 3 encompasses Tropical and Bright; Classic Fruit Bowl Desserts; Nuts, Spice & Everything Nice; Where Savory Meets Sweet; and Unexpected Delights.

Spookie Cookies : Next-Level Decorating to Make Your Treats Come Alive, by Karen Thi (September 1, 2026)
Here are some of the cleverest Halloween cookies I’ve ever seen! Love the uniquness. (I’ve gotten a bit tired of nearly every Halloween cookbook featuring witch’s fingers).
Chapters include: Royal Icing – Make it & Master It; Spookie Cookie Recipes; The Dead & Undead; The Witching Hour; Macabre Market; Creatures and Creaturae; Haunted Mansion; Halloween Night; and a Temples & Stl Files chapter.

Now we can make every night just like Taco Tuesday! Besides tacos, this cookbook offers recipes for salsas, dips, cocktails and other Taco Night treats.
