Christmas Holiday Gifts for Cooks: Cooking Gift Sets

Not all of my foodie friends are self-described home cooks or home chefs. Many of my foodie friends love going to restaurants, but don’t often create gourmet meals at home. They’re either busy, or not completely confident in the kitchen, or haven’t tried a new technique quite yet.

I’m thinking these cooking gift sets from The Cooking Gift Set Store on Amazon might delight some of my friends who love good food but need a little help executing something delicious in their kitchens.

For example, check out this comprehensive French Tarts Baking Kit. It comes with the tools and supplies you need (but not the ingredients) to make darling little fruit or pudding filled French tarts.

The boxed cooking gift kit includes a perforated tart ring set, baking weights, a piping bag and a candy thermometer for the meringue, and of course step-by-step instructions on making the tarts and their fillings.

The Mulled Wine cooking gift set is an especially festive holiday gift. The boxed kit includes a zester, a mesh infuser, a mulling ladle, dried orange, cardamom pods, anise stars, whole cloves, cinnamon sticks, dried orange, and instructions for making mulled wine. (You have to supply the wine yourself – shucks!)

The Wood Smoked Barbecue Grilling Kit boxed set comes with instructions and recipes; plus a stainless steel smoker box, a grill scraper, a specialty meat thermometer, hickory smoked salt, apple wood chips, hickory wood chips, and cherry wood chips. (You have to provide the meat yourself, of course. You don’t really want a bunch of meat arriving in this box, do you?)

I’m eager to present a couple of adventurous foodie friends with the Soup Dumpling Gift Kit. It includes everything (except the ingredients) you need to make soup dumplings: a bamboo steamer basket, parchment steamer liners, a dumpling dough roller, a spatula for the filling, agar agar powder, and of course instructions and recipes. Make xiao long bao at home!

Which cooking gift set tempts you the most to send to a friend for the holidays? Let us know in the comments below.
