I especially love one-pot recipes in autumn and winter, so I’m looking forward to exploring this new French bistro cookbook. The author, a Parisian restaurant chef, took especial care to create recipes that call for minimal advance preparation. There are over 150 recipes that require just one pot or one sheet pan to make your meal. There are chapters on pre-dinner snacks, cheese, recipes requiring a few eggs, desserts, and chapters specific to fish, meat, or veggies.

Christmas Classics: Timeless Recipes for the Festive Season, by the Murdoch Books Test Kitchen (Oct 13, 2026

This cookbook presents holiday favorites with a modern bent. I absolutely adore Greek food, and I can’t wait to eat even more Greek food due to this new cookbook! Chapters are arranged by how long you have to cook on a particular day: limited time, an hour, the whole afternoon, or if you’ve got Sunday free. There’s also a chapter of recipes for when you have overnight available to get them started. (Clever!)

The very first recipe I will try is the fried saganaki!

Eva Pau lives in Ireland and has been working to introduce Asian food to Irish people there via her family’s Asian food store.
