I’m always up for a new French cookbook, but this one is extra special. It was developed and photographed at Julia Child’s former home in Provence in the south of France. La Pitchoune is in the village of Plascassier. There’s a TV show called “La Pitchoune: Cooking in France” you might want to check out, too. Past 1 of this cookbook is “Mostly French;” Part 2 is “Warmer Weather Recipes,” Part 3 is “Cooler Weather Recipes.”

Here are 100 simple recipes from a former caterer and mom of six hungry kids. She’s included recipes for carnivores, vegetarians and pescatarians. Chapters include: Breakfast is My Jam; Almost Dinner; Dinner Time!; Vegetables Big & Small; Bowls & Salads; Soups & Sammies; and Dessert! Of Course.
